Donegal Canoe Club is a voluntary canoeing club run by enthusiasts based in Letterkenny. We run rivers, sea kayak, kayak surf and canoe as well as some of the competitive disciplines such as marathon racing and slalom.
Starting around April time and especially after the clocks go forward and the lighter evenings are here, we meet up at 6pm on Wednesday evenings in Letterkenny and go paddling.
Where we go from here will depend mainly on the weather and the ability of those who turn up to paddle. This could be a flatwater location like Loch Gartan, Mulroy Bay or the Swilly. If the surf is up we may go to Fannad, Rosnowlough or Ballyliffin. If it has been raining and the river levels are up we will run a river.
