Joining the Donegal Canoe Club
To paddle with us you have to be ICU Level 2 or equivalent. If you are new to the sport or maybe have had some experience, we recommend that you attend one of our Introduction to Kayaking courses that are based on the ICU Level 2 Proficiency Award. You will then have a good idea what the sport is about and whether or not it is for you.
As a Donegal Canoe Club member we will also register you with the Irish governing body, the Irish Canoe Union (ICU) so that you can attend their events at membersip rates. You will also be covered by their Public Liability insurance, see www.canoe.ie for more information. (Personal Accident Insurance is also recommended please see Section 2-8 details of our Safety, Rules & Guidelines Handbook below) .
Once your details and fee have been received your mobile number and email address will be added to our group text and email list and you will then receive texts notifying you of both Club paddles and Peer paddles. You will also be able to access the Members Page on the club website.

so that you fully understand the limits of our duty of care for you or your child.
Membership Fees (includes ICU Membership) – updated 27th March 2010
Family Membership €80.00 – Includes 2 adult partners and any children under 18. A membership form must be completed for each child. All children must be accompanied by an adult on club paddles and events.
Senior Membership €60.00 – For one adult member
New Senior Membership €40.00 – A discount of €20.00 off normal Senior membership for the first year of membership.
Student Membership €40.00 – We require proof at time of payment, please produce any valid full time student card, we reserve the right not to accept ID that we deem invalid or fraudulent.
Junior membership €20.00 – A membership form must be completed for each child before they can paddle. All children must be accompanied by an adult on club paddles and events.
