Disclaimer
I accept that canoeing/kayaking is an adventurous sport, which by its very nature involves a degree of risk of personal injury or even death. I acknowledge that the Donegal Canoe Club (the Club), a voluntary organisation, cannot ensure my complete safety at all times. I accept these risks and agree to be responsible for my own actions and involvement. I accept that the Club cannot be held liable for any injuries caused to me or caused to others or their property by me, due to my participation or involvement in this sport howsoever arising. I understand that I am advised to take out Personal Accident Insurance to cover any activities as a member of the Donegal Canoe Club
I accept that this applies to all members of Donegal Canoe Club and confirm that I will not hold Donegal Canoe Club, its members, its staff, its trustees, its affiliates or any person so connected to be liable for any accident caused while participating in any activity connected with the club. I do note that I may be personally responsible for my own actions and herein advise that Donegal Canoe Club is indemnified entirely for any damage, loss, claim, injury, accident or any other matter caused by my participation in these activities howsoever arising.
I confirm that I do not suffer from any disability or medical condition* which may render me unfit for strenuous exercise and that I can swim at least twenty-five metres and am proficient at treading water. I hereby agree to complete any swimming proficiency test upon request of the Club and will accept their determination as to my proficiency in swimming. I realise that this may result in the Club refusing membership. I also agree to accept the Donegal Canoe Club rules (Safety, Rules & Guidelines – A General Handbook for Members is available on the Safety page at www.donegalcanoeclub.com ) and those of the Irish Canoe Union.
*Should a disability or medical condition exist, this does not necessarily preclude you from membership/participation, but it must be declared. Should you be in any doubt, advice should be sought from your family doctor.
All members must also complete and sign a membership form which will be kept on file. Completed forms should be given over in person to either the Club Treasurer or assistant Club Treasurer. No membership forms will be accepted without the appropriate membership fees which are; Junior** – €20, New Senior (first year) – €40, Student (proof required) – €40, Senior – €60, Family** (2 Senior members and their children under the age of 18) – €80. Fees are subject to change. Subsequent payments can be made via PayPal.
**Membership will not be granted for junior’s if this form is not signed by a parent / guardian who accepts the `Terms and Conditions of Membership’ on behalf of the junior seeking membership of the Donegal Canoe Club.
The club committee reserve the right to refuse membership or in certain circumstances terminate membership. The annual club membership runs each year from April to March. Any person joining in mid term will be liable for the cost of the full term.
I confirm that I have read the above and I understand the conditions as set out therein and enter this contract in consideration of €1 to be deducted from my first year’s membership.
